Frequently asked questions

What if I’m highly anxious about maths?

You're not alone. And you don't need to be confident before starting.

Our 1:1 Confidence Coaching sessions, Exam Success Coaching Package, and Live Learning webinars are designed for adults who feel anxious, avoidant or overwhelmed by maths. The focus is on creating a calm, supportive learning environment where you can build confidence at your own pace.

If you'd like personalised support, 1:1 coaching provides a safe space to explore challenges, ask questions and develop practical strategies for managing maths anxiety. If you're not quite ready for individual support, webinars can be a great place to start. You can learn alongside others who share similar experiences, gain new insights into maths confidence, and begin building a more positive relationship with maths in a supportive, low-pressure environment.

How does Maths Confidence Coaching differ from Maths Tutoring?

Maths Confidence Coaching is a specialist educational approach designed for learners who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck with maths — not just because of gaps in knowledge, but because of what's getting in the way of learning maths.

While traditional tutoring focuses mainly on maths content, Maths Confidence Coaching blends expert teaching with a confidence-first approach — helping you manage anxiety, think clearly under pressure, and build strategies for learning maths effectively, alongside the maths itself. It's a safe space to work through barriers that may have held you back for years, ideal for adult learners who need both understanding and confidence to move forward.

What should I expect if I sign up for 1:1 Maths Confidence Coaching sessions?

Before anything's booked, we'll have a short, no-obligation conversation about your goals, any barriers, your availablilty, and what kind of support would suit you best.

Your first session starts wherever's most useful for you. This may be a specific topic, or simply talking through what's felt hard about maths so far. There's no test, and no assumptions about what you should already know.

Each session adapts to where you are on your maths journey. Some sessions will be focused more on maths, others more on confidence or anxiety. Nothing's fixed in advance; your journey is led by you, supported by us.

Book as regularly or flexibly as suits you. There's no set programme to keep up with — progress is measured by how you're doing and feeling, not a fixed schedule.

What should I expect in the Live Learning Webinars?

Every session is built around specific tools or strategies. Session topics vary, from key areas of maths to common barriers to learning maths. Rather than just listening to a lecture, you'll get the chance to try the techniques yourself, in your own time, during the session.

This is individual practice, not a requirement to share or perform — nobody will put you on the spot to answer or explain your thinking. That said, you're very welcome to ask questions or share your thoughts if you'd like to.

The goal isn't just to understand a tool in the moment, but to leave with something practical you can keep using on your own.

Booking is quick and easy. You'll be taken to our secure booking page (we use Ticket Tailor). Once you have booked you will get an email confirmation and joining link straight away, plus a reminder ahead of the session.

Can maths really be learnt effectively online?

Yes, when online learning is designed effectively. Some learners make even more progress online, since a familiar environment can reduce pressure and help anxious learners feel more relaxed and focused.

In our 1:1 Maths Confidence Coaching sessions, we use easy-to-use, interactive software such as shared whiteboards, visual models and real-time feedback so you're actively involved throughout the session.

Our Live Learning Webinars are designed to be engaging and practical, not passive lectures. Through clear visual explanations and the chance to try techniques yourself during the session, you'll build a genuine, deeper understanding of key concepts and strategies.

Whether you choose 1:1 coaching or a webinar, the focus is always on understanding, confidence, and making maths feel more manageable.

Not sure which support is right for you?

You don’t need to work it out on your own. If you’d like help deciding, we're happy to talk it through with you.
